What’s the difference between
Flex Alerts and Public Safety Power Shutoffs?

Can I help prevent a Public Safety Power Shutoff?

Unfortunately, you can’t...PSPS are planned outages to help prevent wildfires so we have no control to prevent them.

Oh okay, so how about Flex Alerts? Can I help stop a power outage when one is called?

Yes! Flex Alerts are triggered during heat waves when everyone is using energy to try to stay cool. But by reducing our energy use from 4-9PM, together we can all help stop power outages.
