Homeowners planning to participate in either Energy Upgrade California™ Home Upgrade or Advanced Home Upgrade can add separate enhanced options to further conserve natural resources, reduce greenhouse gases and get on the path toward a GreenPoint Rated home.
Enhanced options do not qualify for utility incentives through Energy Upgrade California, but may be eligible for separate rebates and incentives and have many benefits of their own. Talk to your participating contractor about additional rebates and incentives that may be available for enhanced options.
Certified green building professionals can work with you to plan a customized solution that combines energy, indoor air quality, water and resource conservation measures to create a healthier, more comfortable home with reduced impact on the environment.
Renewable Energy (e.g., solar)
Adding renewable energy solutions like solar power or solar heat can help reduce your home’s use of non-renewable energy sources and may lower your electricity and gas bills. The California Solar Initiative (CSI) has information on additional incentives.
Water Efficient Landscaping
Many water utilities offer rebates for water efficient landscaping projects such as smart irrigation systems. These measures help conserve one of our most valuable natural resources and can save you money.
